Curtain Offers
Quirks and Quarks with QED
Nobel
Prize-winning physicist Richard Feynman holds forth with
captivating wit and wisdom in this fascinating play that
originally starred Alan Alda. One of the twentieth century's
great physicists, Feynman was also one of its great eccentrics.
Not only did he develop the atomic bomb and quantum electrodynamics,
but he played the bongos, frequented topless bars and relished
his bit parts in university theatricals. With the magnetic
Feynman at the center of an exquisitely realized universe,
QED exerts an irresistible gravitational pull.
James Read directs Redwood Curtain veteran actor Randy Wayne
as the charming and eccentric Richard Feynmen in this absorbing
and engaging play. RC newcomer Melanie Quillen is also featured
as one of Feynman's students. Read and Wayne acted together
In Redwood Curtain's final show at the Eureka Mall venue,
the extraordinary Season 2005 production Drawer Boy.
They are thrilled to be working together again in this exceptional
play, this time as director and actor.
"This
is the first of two shows we'll be presenting at the Arcata
Playhouse in 2008," explained Artistic Director Clint
Rebik. "After the success of Blown Sideways though
Life last August, we decided we should continue to do
these smaller shows in this rented venue while we continue
our search for a new home." Although that new home
has yet to be determined, the tireless Rebik and his RC
cohorts have not given up hope.
QED plays Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights for
two weekends only: May 15-17 and May 22-24. Curtain is promptly
at 8:00, and all tickets are $13.

Wanted:
Big Commercial, Warehouse or Light Industrial Space
Also
being a nonprofit we are looking for a lovely theatre-going
landlord willing to offer us a nonprofit price. Ideally
we would prefer to be in or around the Arcata/Eureka area
but would go to McKinleyville or a close alternative for
the right space. If you have an old building or space that
could use a shot in the arm, we will gladly transform it
into a beautiful theatre arts refuge for our talented actors
and directors waiting in the wings.
If
you know where we can get a space like this, please give
us a call at 707-443-7688
Sincerely
Redwood
