Child
By Kristine Thatcher

and Henry are a couple whose soon-to-be-adopted baby is born with
a life-threatening congenital disorder. Jean bonds to him, while
Henry avoids the lad, assuming the fate of the adoption is a foregone
conclusion. Jean's love for the boy and Henry's fear of him threatens
to unravel their marriage as they sort through the heartbreaking
question of whether they should keep the child.
